My laptop screen has a water damage spot. None of the pixels are dead, but there is a smudge. How do I fix it?

I have an Acer Extensa 520-4025. None of my pixels are dead, but my nephew tried to “clean it” and accidentally sprayed some kind of whiteboard cleaner on the screen. There is a noticeable streak on the screen and I need help fixing it. Should I buy a new screen, or try to repair this one?
